Furama Riverfront Hotel

Singapore

By adopting the vaulted roof form, the 324-room hotel is differentiated from the surrounding urban ‘boxes’ found in the CBD.

Three floors of retail surround a 3-storey atrium, which defines the hotel lobby entrance, as well as providing a visual connection between the hotel and convenient shopping facilities. Two major views determined the building’s orientation.  One towards Hong Lim Green, and the other facing the entrance opening up onto a smaller park at the front.  The diagonal axis formed by these two corners of the site, produced a plan that provided bedrooms with vistas of either park, enabling a faceted treatment of the side elevations.
