Raffles Marina

Singapore
1996

This project was awarded on the basis of a competition tender to our client with our architectural design in his submission.  The subject site in this tender consists of some 42,374 sq.m. of  seafront land in Tuas.

Besides the usual clubhouse facilities, there is provision for mooring of 165 boats and a boat-shed with mechanised system of stacking to accommodate additional 304 boats.

The clubhouse is designed with large overhanging pitch roofs and is reminiscent of features of early Singapore buildings, to reflect a more relaxed lifestyle.

The construction of the breakwater requires special engineering methods and the use of the mechanised stacking system is a first in Singapore.
